ABOUT THE BOOK:

Many of these short stories have the same characters in them, in different times and in different places. This is the first book of chronicles of role play that started on AOL years ago up until it’s demise.  All stories in this book take place in New Orleans in the 1800’s. The stories are collaborations by many people but mostly by my writing partner Amber Rendon and myself. We hope you’ll enjoy them, they are in their true form, some editing done for aesthetics as well as grammar and while I cannot promise they are in order to complete a whole story, I have done the best I could to put them together in such a way that each story is unique yet fits into the whole of a novel. There is something for everyone in this collection; vampires, werewolves, sex, seduction, blood and tears. This book is a celebration of a montage of writers from many places. We thank you for reading and wait in humble gratitude for your opinions and reviews.

Sincerely,
Kitty Honeycutt

BANTER – STUFF ABOUT YOU

Q: How would you describe yourself as a color? Think personality here. Are you a light and airy pastel person, or more of a deep, dark, sultry and mysterious color?
A: As a color I think I’d be multi-hued. I have so many different colors running through me I’m more like a rainbow. Being an author helps with that a lot. You have so many personalities and people running around in your head that make for interesting and affective characters that you just can’t help but be a rainbow. I allow my colors to wonder as they will depending on my mood on that day. I can be deep, dark and sultry or I can be airy and even silly at times. I enjoy life, animals and people so I feel it’s important to be a rainbow.

Q: Are you a morning person, or a midnight candle burner?
A: Definitely a midnight candle burner. I cannot stand day for some reason and would rather stay in bed the entire time. Night is when I rise and shine the best. My daughter often calls me a vampire but I feel it has to do with the seclusion of night time. No one else is awake so when I feel the need to write I can do so without interruption. I am often even working on books for my other authors because I run a publishing business as well. I think better when I’m alone so night is definitely my time.

Q: Tell me one thing about each of the four seasons you like. It can be anything.
A: Winter = Snow! We hardly get snow in my part North Carolina so I love it when we finally do and of course I love Christmas so that’s always a huge highlight for me. We’ve not had a good snow on Christmas since the early 80’s.
Spring = I adore Spring, the birds coming back to take up their usual sweet chirping, the sound of bees buzzing. It’s like the earth is new again and just getting started. Spring is a lovely time of year in North Carolina.
Summer = I like summer because of the fun you can have, swimming and hanging out with friends and family at barbecues and such, but I have to say the heat gets to me. I can’t take much of it at all.
Fall = Fall, oh now that is a time for excitement. Halloween, one of my all time favorite holidays gets me in the mood for all the other holidays to follow. I feel the excitement of the back to back festivities and I love getting dressed up for Halloween. It’s also time to watch those awesome horror flicks that I love so much!

BOOKS – ABOUT THE CRAFT

Q: When did you start writing and why?
A: I started writing at a very young age. I believe I was twelve or thirteen. My first stories were about New Kids on the Block yes I was a fan and so was my cousin and we wrote together. I remember waking up from a deep sleep and having to write something down so I wouldn’t forget it the next morning, something I thought would make a great plot. I was horrible because I’d always wake my cousin up too. I think she secretly wanted to kill me.

Q: Where do you get your ideas?
A: My ideas can come from numerous places. Most just come from my crazy brain but I do get ideas when driving around and sometimes I get ideas from my animals. I have one book coming out called Crazy Cat Lady that one is going to be a real doozy. It’s horror and thriller all in one. I think the readers of that genre will really like it. I got that idea because I have 13 cats. Yes! The magic of the number 13! I know some people see it as an ill omen but the number 13 has always been good luck for me.

Q: How did you come to write your genre of choice?
A: Horror, I love horror and supernatural/paranormal because you can really go wild with it. You can write things that will make people’s hair stand on end! I love it!

Q: What do you think is the hardest part of writing a book?
A: Plotting, with me I tend to start writing with one plot in mind and it always changes as I go. It never fails that my endings always end up being different once I’m done. Ah… the life of a writer.

BOOKS - NOW LETS PROMOTE – STRUT YOUR STUFF

Q: What are you working on now? Would you like to share anything about it?
A: Crazy Cat Lady, this book is going to be quite wild. I think readers all over will be able to identify with many of the characters and since it’s based off my home town I’m sure that a lot of people around here will love it.

Q: Do you have a new book coming out soon? Tell us about it.
A: Yes, Crazy Cat Lady, it’s about a wise woman/midwife that helps her towns people often. However, something goes wrong and there’s a fire at her home. She has always cared for the cats around her place and they become a huge part of the story. That’s all I can say about it for now. Here is the blurb:

In 1962 they thought she was dead, all they had to do was burn the old house down with her and those damnable cats in it and everything would be normal again. No more odd antics from the Crazy Cat Lady no more death. But what they didn't realize is there was much more to her relationship with her beloved cats than met the eye. Love, trust, and the bonds of a mother to her children all played a part to the insanity the town people thought raged within the crone's mind.

It's now 2018 and the stories have not ceased. Instead it seems the legend of the 'Crazy Cat Lady' have grown more horrifying than ever before prompting the local children to take a visit. Most have only come within a few feet of the old half burned house. They would stand, staring at the place, watching the creepy cats mill about the area, climbing along porch railings meowing plaintively. But three high school boys decide to take it a bit further one night which begins a horrifying look into what happens when nature is misunderstood and an old crone that harmed no one is now out for revenge.

Q: How can we find you? Do you have a web page, FaceBook page or any buy links?
A: Yes, I do. Here are the links.

EXCEREPT FROM ~ WHERE THIS WORD ENDS ~

THE PARK
Rawlin had been elusive again, he'd been away from Wolff Manor for three whole days at least and he knew his father was no doubt scouring the countryside for him.  Oh, he'd been back to shower, change and all that but he was good at sneaking about and he'd not been caught leaving early and coming in late.  What more could anyone ask of him, he was almost twenty two and completely on his own or so he thought.  His rules were the only ones he followed, but little did he know that would all change as soon as Trigve' pulled the reins in on him, no pun intended.  He came out of the woods surrounding the area and into full view of the cityscape.  He smelled blood on the air and the immediate thought there had been another murder, but then he saw them and even in almost total darkness he could tell what they were.  Without thinking he started to head their way, his father had mentioned that a few of the Kindred were friends and he intended to find out if they may be the batch he'd been referring to.  However, there were horses... and horses hated Lycan's and that of course was exactly what Rawlin was.  Giving little to no thought on the matter he was soon abreast of the party of two and about to open his mouth to speak when he saw that wild look come into the eye of the one the female now sat upon.
